Rats
The brown rat is a large rodent with a body up to 25 cm without the tail. It lives in basements, sewers, warehouses and waste areas and is active at night. Very cautious and quick to breed.
Why you don’t want these neighbours
- DiseasesLeptospirosis, salmonellosis and other diseases.
- Spoiled goodsThey ruin food, packaging and sacks in warehouses.
- Fire riskThey gnaw cables — a short-circuit risk.
- BitesA cornered rat may attack.
Signs of a problem
The earlier the treatment, the easier the result.
What to know about the pest
These traits decide which control method will work.
- 1.5–2 cm— a gap this size is enough for a rat to get inside.
- for liferodent incisors keep growing — so they gnaw cables, packaging and doors.
- neophobiarats avoid new objects and food — stations take time to work, so monitoring matters.
- diseasesrodents spread leptospirosis, salmonellosis, haemorrhagic fever with renal syndrome and more.
How to deal with it
Professional treatment plus prevention keeps results longer.
- 01Survey
We find runs, burrows and feeding spots — this decides where stations go.
- 02Bait stations
Closed stations along the perimeter and runs, checked on every visit.
- 03Traps
Traps and glue boards where baits are not allowed, e.g. food areas.
Close holes around pipes and foundations with metal mesh, store food and feed sealed, remove waste on time.
